The Fun Run date is Friday, June 12th at 6 p.m. Please print out the Entry Form (or pick one up at Julie's Designs, 723 Main Street), mail this form to email included on the form (or drop off at Julie's Designs) and then pay the $15 Entry Fee the day of the race. Registration takes place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

The $15 entry fee includes a race t-shirt, drinks after the race and a meal ticket to the 'all-you-can-eat BBQ' on Main Street. What a deal! Please make checks payable to "The Shed".

The Jewell Lions Club invites you to help us celebrate our annual Jewell Jubilee Parade on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. If you'd like to participate in the parade, please complete the application and return by June 9, 2009. (address is on the form)

This hour-long program, depicting Movies of Jewell in the 1940's and 1950's, will be shown twice on Friday, June 12th, at the Montgomery Memorial Library. The scheduled times are 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Seating will be limited to 50 people. To reserve a spot, call the library at 827-5112 to reserve a spot. The movies are free. If you have any questions, please call the library or Dick Steffen at 827-5644.






The theme for this year's bake-off is "Be Creative @ Your Library"

The bake-off will be held Friday, June 12th, for participants in kindergarten through 4th grade. Entries are to be submitted to the library between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. with judging at 2:45 p.m. Children may enter any or all of the following categories:

• fruity flowers - using fruit to create a flower(s)
• veggie tails - using vegetables to create an animal(s) with a tail
• my favorite holiday cupcake - using cupcake(s) as a base to represent a favorite holiday

All entries are to be made completely of edible items although judges will not taste the entries

Pre-registration required by June 10th! All children receive prizes!







This year's Jubilee Grill-Off will be on the west side of Main Street by the tent. The date is Saturday, June 13th, and registration will begin at 11:00 a.m. To register, please call (515) 290-0983 or (515) 827-6194 OR stop in at Mischelle's, 621 Main Street. All entries must be ready by 4:00 p.m.

There will be two categories this year. Everyone will be judged on ribs and an open class. There is a $10 entry fee for each item to be judged and judging will take place at 4:00 p.m.

Please grill or smoke your entries at the Grill-Off. Bring enough to have five judges taste your entries.






On Saturday, June 13th, at 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the high school, ballroom dance lessons will be available thanks to the ISU Ballroom Dance Club! Lessons will be from 6 - 7 p.m. with dancing to follow from 7 - 9 p.m.

Free-will donations will be accepted by the ISU Ballroom Club.






This engaging event is for children entering preschool through 3rd graders, and will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 13th, at the Jewell City Park on the bandstand.

Bring your favorite stuffed animal and be prepared to share some details on why this is your favorite! You may bring your "pet" as it, or all dressed up!

All children participating will receive an award. Please pre-register by calling Julie at 827-6244.






The Damon Dotson Band will be playing at the Jewell Golf and Country Club on Saturday, June 13th, at 8:00 p.m. This instrumental band appeals to all ages and music styles. Come and join the South Hamilton Classes of 1974 and 1979 for an enjoyable evening of musical entertainment. FREE admission!







FREE swimming at the Jewell Pool on Saturday, June 13th, to celebrate Jewell Jubilee!
