Payment Process:
In Jewell, each household's water meter is read by the homeowner. A form is filled out with the previous month's meter reading,
which is then subtracted from the current reading. Each payment booklet has a price list based on the number of gallons consumed each month and the homeowner is responsible for
correctly figuring out the amount owed.
Where to pay:
Payments can be sent to City Hall (P.O. Box 486), dropped off at the City Hall Office,
or left in a drop box just inside the front door.
When to pay:
Payments are due on the 10th of each month, with a 10% fee (of total due) charged if paid after that date.
Water testing:
Water is tested once a month by LGI in Ellsworth.

Garbage and Waste Products(top)

Collection Times: East - West Streets on Mondays, North - South Streets on Fridays.
Pickup during weeks with a holiday generally run one day later.
Garbage/Trash Bags: Also available are orange trash bags for sale at Jewell Farm and Home.
Cost is 10 bags for $20. These can be set out on trash day and The Trash Man will collect them.
Bulk Pickup and/or Construction Sites: For charges and to let them know, please call two days before pickup. Cleanup also available, call for prices.
Recycling: Recycling bins are located behind Hamilton Hospital Clinic. Bins are emptied on Fridays.
Items collected are the following:
- Newspaper
- Milk Jugs without lids, crushed is better (lids are NOT recyclable)
- Glass (clear glass only - no need to remove labels)
- Plastic (#1 and #2 only)
- Tin and Aluminum cans
- Cardboard is NOT recyclable at this time
- PLEASE RINSE ALL CONTAINERS
